Introduce the topic or text, state an opinion (claim) and develop an organizational structure where related ideas are categorized to support the claim. Create a logically ordered body which provides clear reasons and relevant evidence to support the claim. Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources; assess the credibility of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation. Using transitional words, phrases, and clauses to clarify the relationship among the claim(s) and reasons. Establish and maintain a formal style Do not use contractions. Do not use slang.
