Health Expectations 1 to 8. Students will be able to describe the building blocks of the human body, from cells to body systems, and how body systems work together. 3NS3.2 Add and subtract simple fractions. 5NS2.0 Students perform calculations and solve problems involving addition. LEARNING OBJECTIVE Display and analyze data using graphs and sampling. Students will be able to analyze and explain Growth and Development of their bodies. I want you to write the rules for adding fractions with like denominators. Create examples of fractions with like denominators. AGENDA Introduce Chapter 8-6 Using Graphs, 8-7 Using Data to Predict, and 8-8 Using Sampling to Predict. Brain Pop on Graphs and Sampling Lecture on Tuesday Introduce Chapter 6: Growth and Development. Check foldable, page 149. Show Brain Pop on Health Video for Chapter 6. Get out a sheet of paper and make Cornell Notes titled “Add Fractions with like denominators. You will see a Brain Pop on adding fractions. DO NOW ACTIVITY Do the warm up problems on the blackboard on Chapter 8-5. Get your Cornell notes out or your foldable and take notes on Monday. Get out your Cornell notes and foldable and be prepared to take notes for the lecture. Make sure you have your foldable ready to take notes. Take out a sheet of paper and write your heading on the paper and title it “Adding Fractions.” HOMEWORK Start Reading Ch 8-6, 8-7, 8-8 Do problem 1-7, page 429 Do problems 1 to 13, page 435 to 436. Do problems 1 to 11, page Start reading Chapter 6: Growth and Development from pages 148 to 179. Do questions in Lesson 1 to 5 and the foldable on page 149. Do Work book from page 36 to 45. Do Lesson all of Chapter 3-1, Add Fractions with Like Denominators, pages 4 to 10. We will cover one lesson per day this week. TEST Test will be the on-line test for Chapter 8 taken on laptops. Your test will be on Chapter 6: Growth and Development. Your Test will be the workbook Chapter 3-1, pages 4 to 10. EXTRA CREDIT Make the foldable on page Label on side with lesson 8-6, 8-7, 8-8 and use it to place your notes on it. Keep this foldable in your folder and add more lessons when get to them later on in the school year Perform a play of three people using the Persona Dolls on a topic concerning Social Health that you seen from a video or researched out of your Health text book, or real life situation. Make a fraction diagram that shows fractions with like Denominators. Color and label it and show it to the class for extra credit.
