9 Advantages of Landscape
Narrow hanging valley means a dam can easily and cheaply be built across it. Steep land creates fast flowing water. Natural reservoirs – Corries tarns. Climate – High Rainfall Low population density. Road Access?

10 Sheep Farming Sheep are hardy and can cope with steep land, poor pasture and cold climates. Low population density. Road Access?

11 Forestry Usually coniferous trees (pine) can grow on steep slopes
Land is not being used for any other economical benefit – lack of competition. Road Access

12 Wind Power Cairngorms have the highest wind speeds in the UK.
Provides a clean source of electricity. Less of a visual intrusion if developed in high or remote places. Low Population density. Road Access
