1 Using a troopmaster Upload file
MyScouting Internet Advancement North Lakes District Using a troopmaster Upload file

2 Open TroopMaster. Go to Reports; Awards/Advancements; Court Of Honor/4403.

3 Select Create tab Delimited export file… and set it to Recipient.
Set Unit Advancement Report to ScoutNET report. Select OK.

4 Review awards for accuracy. Fix if necessary in TroopMaster.
Print copies for Advancement Chair (3?) Close Report.

5 Determine where you will print the file (suggestion - create and use an Export or ScoutNET directory). Select OK.

6 A series of menus will guide you to make labels if needed.
Selecting Cancel will still continue on the export process.

7 Select Save to create an additional export path file
Select Save to create an additional export path file. It will not be used in the Internet Advancement page, but you need to save it to continue the export process. Determine if you want to update your TroopMaster file to reflect the reported/presented flags. Usually, the answer is Yes. Select Yes or No.

8 Select Cancel at the 4403 menu.
Close down TroopMaster.

9 Open an internet browser, and go to www.scouting.org
Select MyScouting at the right, above the blue bar.

10 Sign in using your MyScouting credentials.

11 Go to the Unit Tools (left side bar).
Select Internet Advancement.

12 Either Register as a First Time User or Select Returning User
Either Register as a First Time User or Select Returning User. If this is your first time, Select First Time User.

13 Enter your 5 digit Unit ID. Enter your 4 digit Unit number
Enter your 5 digit Unit ID. Enter your 4 digit Unit number. Obtain these from the Seattle BSA office.

14 Once logged in, select Continue.

15 Select Upload Advancement File.

16 Use the Browse button to find the file you exported from TroopMaster
Use the Browse button to find the file you exported from TroopMaster. It will have a .CSV extension.

17 Verify the file is correct, then select Upload File.

18 A table is created with all of the scouts in the troop.
Select Review Advancement Report from the left sidebar buttons.

19 Check this report against the TroopMaster report you generated earlier.
You may need to manually update inconsistencies on the previous screen. When done, select Review Advancement Report again.

20 Select Next.

21 You MUST be satisfied with the Review Adv
You MUST be satisfied with the Review Adv. Report because once you submit the data to Chief Seattle Council you can no longer edit it. Select Submit to Council.

22 If you choose to comment, do so now.
Select Save.

23 Print results! You cannot return to this screen later!
Select Print Advancement Report.

24 The warning appears. Select OK.

25 The report appears in .pdf format. Save to your desktop or elsewhere.
Obtain needed signatures on hard copy. Once signed, head to the Scout Shop!
