6. The Old Days
Boys worked in fields plowing peanuts and cotton until they left, then Becky took over.
Girls hoed, kept the cows feed, and looked after the animals.

Country Music was all she listened to. Her favorite song was “Little Bird on the Window”
Food peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and any veggies from the garden.

“School was a fit! I got a whoopin’ almost everyday of my life at school until I was 12. I fought every boy in school,” Says Aunt Becky.
Her preacher was her principal and daily had to paddle her ( with thin ruler) with a smile on his face!
She would just say, “Bring it on!!!!”
Had to go back to 1st grade because Lessie (her sister and my great- grandmother) didn’t want to leave if Aunt Becky wasn’t there with her.
Graduated from the 6th grade

8. Fun & Entertainment
They played in the road banks making slides on the road.
Played house with a stove outside and a bed made out of leaves.

10. Rules Rebel in everyway!!!!!!!
Wash hands before eating.
Bathed nightly in a wash tub that outside in the sun to get warm. Didn’t bathe very often in the winter!

She fought every boy in her grade until she was 12.
Had to be home between 8&9 so she named to bushes at the front door 8&9. When her dad asked if them what time did they get home it was always 8&9.

11. Education Thought she would farm her whole life.
No college she had enough of school and learned about life at home.

12. DANGER
Every time she was outside a bull would chase her down, but she wasn’t going to get hurt so out ran it every single time!!

14. Depression Since her family were famers nothing really effected them.
People helped others in the community by sewing clothes for kids.

15. Inventions Model T came out when Aunt Becky was 9 years old.

When asked this she knew the answer right away. “My grandmother, She was right there for everything! She’d give us money too. She was good to us and stayed near us”

17. The Love Story
She went to Fort Rucker with some of her friends to meet boys. Went to the movies while there and met Jack. He went home and said “yep ,that’s my girl!”. They had Glen and lived happily ever after!!
