1 A man of God is… Committed to honoring Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, and knowing and obeying God’s Word. Committed to pursuing vital relationships with others, understanding that he needs brothers to help him in his walk with God.

2 Steps to Deeper Relationships

3 Step 1: Follow the Golden Rule and be a friend.

4 Qualities looked for in a mentoring relationship:
Acceptance Understanding Loyalty Availability Genuineness

5 Step 2: Obey the ‘one another ’ commands of scripture.

6 John 13:34 Love one another:
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

7 Romans 15:7 Accept one another:
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.

8 Encourage one another: Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

9 Ephesians 4:32 Forgive one another:
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Struggling in a time of crisis. Overwhelmed by inadequacy. Confronted with an unresolved need or problem. Challenged or measured by a goal. Searching for a more meaningful relationship.

17 Step 4: Acknowledge your need for others.

18 Ecclesiastes 4:10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.

19 Step 5: Accept and appreciate differences in others.

20 I Corinthians 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.

21 Step 6: Devote yourself to people.
