Ruukki SP2E PU and SP2B PU sandwich panels with a rigid polyurethane core are intended for use in industrial buildings, as cladding for walls and ceilings in the stationary cold storage and food industry facilities.

6. Product features
Ruukki SP2E PU sandwich panels are composed of two external facings made of steel sheets and a polyurethane insulation core. The rigid HCFC-free, self-extinguishing polyurethane foam features very good thermal insulation properties.
Panel facings are made of metal sheets galvanised on both sides, with the parameters of S280GD or S320GD steel and zinc coating weight of Z275 g/m2 or Z190 g/m2.
The standard version of the sheets is protected with polyester coating. The sheets are also available with PVDF coating, which features improved resistance to ultraviolet radiation.
In case of facilities with increased hygiene and sanitary requirements, like food production and storage, panel facings may need extra protection. For such applications a hard and food-safe PVC(F) coating of 120 μm, or or corrosion-resistant steel acc. to EN :2007 is recommended.

8. Facings and coatings
Our sandwich panels have facings made of galvanized steel sheets with durable organic coatings, which provides perfect protection against corrosion.
Ruukki offers a 25 micron thickness of polyester in a colour compliant with a Ruukki’s sandwich panel colour scheme. On the interior side, the steel sheet has a coating which increases core adherence.

9. Cold and deep freeze storage facilities
One of the most important elements in the structure of a cold store is the effectiveness of thermal insulation of walls and ceilings. Depending on the use of a cold store, its internal temperature may be positive, i.e. an “above-zero” cold store (from 0oC to +10oC), or negative, i.e. a “below-zero” cold store (from -18oC to -30oC).

10. Cold and deep freeze industry - a reference facility
Pago deep freeze storage and distribution centers in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Lębork, Warsaw, Dąbrowa Górnicza
Ruukki's task was to manufacture and supply sandwich panels with a polyurethane core, as elements of the cold insulation of the facilities, and profiles sheets with anti-condensation coating for the roofing of the structure. Total delivery included 85,000 m2 of sandwich panels and approx. 50,000 m2 of profiled sheets.

LAZUR dairy cooperative in Skalmierzyce
Ruukki was involved in the successive stages of upgrading and extending the facility, supplying panels with polyurethane core. The panels came with PVC(F) protection - a special coating for the food industry, which has an increased corrosion resistance and is food-safe.

14. Food storage - a reference facility
PPHU Awex, a vegetable sorting and storage facility in Nowe Skalmierzyce
The cladding of the facility was done using cold-storage sandwich panels with a polyurethane core. Ruukki’s profiled sheets were used as the roofing material. Ruukki supplied a total of 10,000 m2 of materials. The panel elevation was mounted in the horizontal assembly arrangement with the structure maintained outside. This solution gave the building an interesting look, harmonized with the process openings.
