5. Hyperbole an extreme exaggeration
Why does Charlie, who’s fast as a jet,
take all day long to get to school?

6. Personification Giving a human quality, to something non-human
“Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go.”

7. Symbol
a symbol is a person, a place, an object, or an action that stands for something beyond itself

the repetition of a consonant sound to start a series of words

use of words whose sound suggest their meaning

15. Rhythm
the sound or beat of the poem

the lines of a poem grouped by one main idea
