Atmospheric Temperature
Troposphere – temperature decreases with altitude. temperature decreases about 6.5oC every kilometer Stratosphere – temperature increases because of the ozone layer. ozone molecules absorb some of the suns energy which increases temperature
2
Atmospheric Temperature
Mesosphere – temperature decreases because it is the coldest layer. Thermosphere – temperature increases, it’s the hottest layer. The Thermosphere and Exosphere are the first layers to receive the Sun’s rays so temperatures are high.
3
High concentration of ozone
Exosphere Thermosphere Mesosphere High concentration of ozone Stratosphere Troposphere
