On your left hand side of the screen locate course tools under course management and click. Locate “Blackboard Collaborate Ultra and click. 1 2 ~24,000 enrollments Fall 2016 (23,922)

16 User Roles Moderator – Moderators have full control over all content that is shared, they can make any participant a presenter or moderator. In addition, moderators see raised hands and notifications. However, moderators can not remove other moderators. Finally, moderators can modify all session settings including adding permissions to participants. Presenter – Presenters are designed to allow students to present without giving them full moderator privileges. Presenters can upload, share and edit content. In addition, they can see raised hands and notifications. Participant - Participants can enable and disable notifications, However, moderators decide if participants can share audio and video, chat, and draw on the whiteboard or share files. Captioner – Captioner is a role designed to provide an accessible learning experience for students whom are deaf or hard of hearing. A participant is assigned this role by a moderator, the captioner is given an area to type what is being said while other participants can view what is the captioner is typing real-time.

18 Sharing Content Locate the ‘Share Content’ tab on the lower right-hand side menu as illustrated below: Sharing content options:

19 Share Whiteboard Collaborate with your students using the whiteboard. Open a blank whiteboard to draw or just jot down notes.

21 Share Application Share your desktop or a software application to teach students about a particular topic. Whenever you move through the application or desktop, your students automatically follow along.

Click on the ‘Share Application’ option Choose whether you would want to share your entire desktop screen or just a single application (PowerPoint, word, Google Chrome)

24 Sharing Files Upload GIF, JPEG and PNG images, PDF files, or PowerPoint Presentations of 60MB or lower to your session.

28 Breakout Groups You can create breakout groups that are separate from the main room and assign participants to them. Click on the three dots beside the name of the participants Select the group you want them assigned Click “start”
