1 Types of Cyber Crimes Phishing - is a scam to steal your online username and password. Phishing attacks work by tricking you into entering your username and password at a fake site that looks like your bank, your broker or employer. Malware - Malware can redirect your browser to a phishing site when you try to go to your bank site, or even let someone remotely hijack your computer. Spyware - is a program where someone sneaks onto your computer. They can do ranges from really annoying, like feeding you a steady stream of advertisements, to very dangerous, like stealing your account numbers, user names and/or passwords as you type them in -- called key logging.

2 How to avoid becoming a victim of certain types of cybercrime
Don’t enter private and confidential information on your personal computer Always use a firewall. Also, always use one or two anti-spyware programs in addition to your anti-virus software, and keep them up to date Don't reply to an or pop-up message that asks for personal or financial information, and don't click on links in the message Store your information elsewhere apart from your PC like on a flash disk or an external hard drive Download a safe search tool like SiteAdvisor which will advise you when your on a dangerous or malicious website Use McAfee's Cybercrime Response Unit at McAfee.com/CRU.
