13 Traditional Publishing vs. Self Publishing
Traditional publishing typically requires authors to secure an agent, and once the manuscript is sold they lose control of the content in their books. $$

14 Traditional Publishing vs. Self Publishing
Vanity presses charge fees for taking authors through the publishing process. With self-publishing, the author retains control and has greater potential for earning profits.

15 Traditional Publishing vs. Self Publishing
Sigma’s Bookshelf is a self-publisher passing on the privileges of self-publishing to teen authors.

16 Full Print Run vs. Print-On-Demand
With a full print run, a pre-determined number of copies are printed then put into distribution. The publisher or author must pay for all the books printed in advance. With print-on- demand, author/publisher orders copies as needed. They are not printed until they are ordered.
