The milk or the water that you use to melt the yeast must be cooler than the room temperature. Very hot or very cold ingredients damage the breads consistency and taste.

4 If you see a little foam in the yeast that you have melted it means that the yeast is ready.

5 While preparing the dough, mix the salt and flour first then add the other ingredients and knead the dough.

Make sure your yeast is in date. Dried yeast should keep for a few months, but really old yeast won’t work and your hard work will have been in vain.

13 The quality of the flour can make a real difference to your loaf
The quality of the flour can make a real difference to your loaf. Different brands do vary. Extra-strong or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re making wholemeal bread, which doesn’t always rise as well as white bread.

14 While making a bread, you can use whole wheat flour instead of white flour. That will make the bread tasty and more healthy.

15 The salt makes yeast to ferment fatser but if you use too much salt you will not be able to get a good taste.
