6 “Church” The term “church” to many suggest a religious or social club
A good group or a good place to go Confusion when use the term differently So what is the New Testament Church? What is its nature?

Reflected In How Conduct Self In It 1 Tim. 3:15 I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God.

Not that people are saved – then they join the church Those who are saved are added to the church (Acts 2:47) Acts 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Eph. 1:22-23 Col. 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body.

Many members yet one body (1 Cor. 12:20) Each member has a function (1 Cor. 12:14-19) No division (1 Cor. 12:24-25) Christ is the head (Col. 1:18; Eph. 1:23) Authority over the body Church takes all direction from the head – subject to the head gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body.

1 Cor. 3:16-17 Dedicated to divine service – dwelling place of God Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

33 6. The Temple Church is the temple of God
We are both part of the temple & priests If church = temple – then we are part of temple We are priest in the temple offering sacrifice (1 Pet. 2:5) you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

35 7. The Bride Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:22-33) Means:
Love Christ has for us (Eph. 5:25) Christ is the head of the church (Eph. 5:24) Church is to be pure (2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:25-27) If married to another it is spiritual adultery (Rom. 7:1-3) Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
