1 October, 31

2 Halloween Halloween is traditionally celebrated on the 31 of
October in English-speaking countries (the United States, Canada, Ireland).

3 Though the origin of the word Halloween is Christian, the holiday is commonly thought to have pagan roots. It has roots in the Celtic  festival of Samhain.

4 The ancient Celts believed that
the border between this world and the Other World became thin on Samhain, allowing spirits to pass through.

5 The word Halloween comes from All-Hallows-Even ("evening"),
that is, the night before All Hallows Day. The word Halloween was first used in the 16th century.

6 The main symbol of Halloween
is a jack-o’-lantern made of a pumpkin. In traditional Celtic Halloween festivals, it was not a pumpkin, but a turnip.

7 Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween.
Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as sweets or sometimes money, with the question – Trick or Treat? Halloween costumes are traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils.
