2 Articulation Task Forces
ATFs help facilitate the implementation of the Arizona Transfer Model to ensure that community and tribal college students may transfer to Arizona public universities without loss of credit toward a baccalaureate degree. Types of ATFs: Discipline Specific Admissions & Records Academic Advising

Goals & Purpose Cooperatively exchange articulation information Engage in statewide program and curriculum development and revision discussions Discuss potential program partnerships and agreements Build and maintain collaborative relationships in support of these goals Anticipate and/or resolve transfer issues

Issues discussed and the recommendations made by the ATFs directly influence student transfer. ATF participation is the foundation for building the cooperative and collaborative relationships that support and sustain student transfer in Arizona. Your participation is greatly appreciated!

Transfer Model Components NOT TO EXCEED 64 TRANSFER CREDITS AGEC (35 Credits) Freshman Composition Mathematics Arts & Humanities Social & Behavioral Sciences Physical & Biological Sciences Options Writing & Critical Inquiry Ethnic/Race/Gender Awareness Global/International or Historical Awareness University Credits - 56 AGEC-A, AGEC-B, and AGEC-S Assured admission for Arizona residents with cumulative GPA of 2.5 Lower-division university general studies requirements met Common Course Matrix 6 or more credits 120 Credits Must be the appropriate preparation for the university major/degree May be a required course, a prerequisite course, or an elective course Common courses + AGEC +second language (if required) AND OTHER APPROPRIATE ELECTIVES should allow student to graduate with baccalaureate with 56 university credits (120 credit program) Must be a transferable course to universities with shared majors Electives

7 Common Courses Common Course Matrix specific to year Recommend appropriate AGEC changes Confirm current baccalaureate degrees and recommend new degrees as shared majors Recommend changes to common courses, commonality of shared majors; appropriate level for proposed new courses. ATF recommendations are reviewed by community colleges and universities

8 Course Equivalency Guide
Recommendations for changes to established equivalencies forwarded from ATF to universities for approval via ATF – CEG Change Form CEG evaluations processed throughout the academic year ACETS: communicate with unit evaluator CEG refreshed weekly Must be the appropriate preparation for the university major/degree May be a required course, a prerequisite course, or an elective course Common courses + AGEC +second language (if required) AND OTHER APPROPRIATE ELECTIVES should allow student to graduate with baccalaureate with 56 university credits (120 credit program) Must be a transferable course to universities with shared majors

Visit the AZTransfer Steering Committee Website ATF Portal Pages Steeringcommittee.aztransfer.com – access the Articulation Task Forces link at the top of the page. To start preparing for the ATF meeting, you should start by going to the AZTransfer Steering Committee website and the ATF portals.

12 The ATF Meeting Goals & Purpose Joint curriculum planning
Anticipated program changes Admission requirement changes: institutional and program Potential advising issues Importance of communication between and among institutions and sectors Set date, time and location for the next meeting Select chair (serves for academic year) Identify host and note taker

13 Role of the ATF Meeting Host
Prior to the Meeting Confirm ATF meeting date and time with chair, AZTransfer Facilitator, and the Steering Committee Schedule meeting room Technology (computer, projector & Internet connection) required at ATF meetings Parking arrangements Provide map to meeting room, parking location, and lodging information to Chatlines application link or listserv OPTIONAL – provide refreshments and/or lunch for ATF members If you volunteered to be an ATF Host or Chair there are some responsibilities that go along with the honor and prestige of those roles 30 days prior to meeting Host will receive instructional letter via from AZTransfer Facilitator will be copied on message AZTransfer Facilitator member will then contact host to assist with meeting arrangements ATF chair should consult with meeting host regarding meeting arrangements

14 Role of the ATF Meeting Host
Prior to the Meeting If an individual requires Disability Support Services for a statewide meeting, the chair, host and AZTransfer staff should be contacted at least two weeks prior to the meeting with information about the specific services needed. After the two week window, the host institution and APASC staff will make their ‘best effort’ to provide the services needed. The AZTransfer Steering Committee will fund any Disability Support Services that are needed at statewide transfer meetings. If the individual requiring service cancels within 72 hrs of the meeting, the individual’s institution must assume the service costs. 30 days prior to meeting Chair will receive instructional letter and sample agenda via from the AZTransfer Steering Committee and the AZTransfer Facilitator will be copied on message AZTransfer Facilitator will then contact chair to assist with coordinating agenda ATF members will then receive meeting announcement via from the articulation facilitator Following these messages, ATF chair should contact members via listserv and forward draft agenda ATF chair should consult with meeting host regarding meeting arrangements

15 Role of the ATF Meeting Host
During the Meeting Review housekeeping items: location of restrooms; lunch plans; etc. Optional: Ask an administrator to give a “Welcome” to your guests

16 Role of the ATF Chair Prior to Meeting
Collect and develop agenda items based on prior meeting notes, issues presented to ATF members and review of materials Chair and AZTransfer Facilitator confer on agenda Send ATF meeting agenda/information to members by: Online Chatlines application (posted on ATF Meeting Calendar) Note: send notification to listserv when posted Attach Word doc to meeting announcement using ATF listserv Plan to review the following items at the ATF meeting: Common Course Matrix (or Matrices) Membership Roster, Prefix and Degrees Lists Ask members to bring CEG pages only if there are changes

17 Role of the ATF Chair During the Meeting
Ensure recommendations, decisions and unresolved issues are recorded by note taker Lead discussion and keep on track with ATF agenda Voting All changes must be voted upon Voting results must be recorded and reported in ATF Meeting Report Only one (1) vote per institution/district – not per campus Lead members or designee votes on behalf of institution

18 Role of the ATF Chair After the Meeting
Reporting via Chatlines application AZTransfer Facilitator begins report then sends to Chair ATF chair is provided a link to access report for review– the form will be waiting on the initial screen ATF chair revises as needed, saves changes, completes report and notifies AZTransfer Facilitator AZTransfer Facilitator reviews, approves and posts report on meeting calendar attaching meeting notes, attendance, and any other appropriate documents Represent ATF in any further discussions or meetings related to articulation issues If the ATF requests that an item go to the AZTransfer Steering Committee, the chair may need to attend AZTransfer Steering Committee meetings on behalf of the ATF

19 Role of the AZTransfer Facilitator
During the Meeting Provides an update of changes to the state model and support systems Monitors decisions made on Common Courses, Exam Equivalencies, AGECs, Pathways, and shared majors Facilitates CEG updates, initiating an ATF-CEG Change Form if needed Initiates and posts the completed ATF Meeting Report and meeting notes via ATF Chatlines application AZTransfer Facilitator: One representative from each of the public universities, community college districts, and tribal colleges Communicates statewide transfer articulation policies and procedures to the appropriate internal (institutional) individuals and groups Resolves operational issues related to the transfer model

20 The ATF Report Chair Reporting Process
Complete ATF Meeting Report within 14 days of the ATF meeting Request the note taker to send the meeting notes to Institutional Articulation Facilitator (and members if desired) to attach to Meeting Report ATF Meeting Calendar will be updated when Meeting Report is submitted through Chatlines application. Timely submission is essential! Without a Meeting Report, no meeting decisions can be recorded by statewide staff.

21 The ATF Report Meeting Report and Notes Include:
Meeting attendees (name and institution) Meeting suggestions, decisions and unresolved issues Voting outcomes Submit as an attachment to online ATF Meeting Report Handouts from meeting should be included as part of the ATF Meeting Report – electronic copies should be provided to Chair
