Kids my age can take action on important issues. Global issues are more important than local issues. People really take action only about issues that directly affect them. It takes a lot of money to help people. People my age are presented in negative ways in the news.

At your assigned station, you will read the article and take notes. You may work in small groups to accomplish this, but everyone must have their own notes. 7 Writing Prompt Use your selected statement as a thesis, write a brief essay in which you argue your position. Be sure to support your ideas with information from one or more of the articles. As experienced writers, you should know to introduce the article, or author before using their information. It is not necessary to use the parenthetical references for this assignment. Example: The article “For Some, It’s Food for Thought” reported students who were making a difference in their community.
