1 STAMPEDE: Docetaxel Significantly Improves Survival in Men With Hormone-Naive Prostate Cancer CCO Independent Conference Highlights of the 2015 ASCO Annual Meeting* May 29 - June 2, 2015 *CCO is an independent medical education company that provides state-of-the-art medical information to healthcare professionals through conference coverage and other educational programs. This program is supported by educational grants from AstraZeneca, Bayer, Celgene Corporation, Genentech, Incyte, and Novartis.

2 STAMPEDE: Background Since 1940s, prostate cancer mainly treated with hormone therapy In early-stage pts (N0M0), addition of radiotherapy improves outcomes Docetaxel prolongs survival in castration-refractory metastatic disease Zoledronic acid mainly used to reduce skeletal metastases Under investigation for metastasis prevention Current study evaluated combination of zoledronic acid and docetaxel in early lines of therapy[1] Evidence of synergy between these 2 agents[2] Both well tolerated by most pts 1. James ND, et al. ASCO Abstract Ullén A, et al. Acta Oncol. 2005;44:

3 STAMPEDE: Study Design

James ND, et al. ASCO Abstract 5001.

11 STAMPEDE: Conclusions
Addition of docetaxel to hormone therapy showed significant improvement in overall survival rate in pts with hormone-naive prostate cancer Addition of zoledronic acid not associated with significant improvement in OS or FFS Docetaxel therapy should be: Considered for men with newly diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer Selectively considered for men with high-risk nonmetastatic disease FFS, failure-free survival; OS, overall survival. James ND, et al. ASCO Abstract 5001.
