1 Getting the raw materials we need to survive

2 F Vascular system G Dermal system H Reproductive system
Cytokinins are a class of plant hormones that help regulate growth by promoting cell division. Cytokinins are produced mainly in meristematic tissue, where most plant growth occurs. Which system carries cytokinins produced in the roots to the rest of the plant? F Vascular system G Dermal system H Reproductive system J None of these

3 All multicellular life must have some way to process and transport the raw materials necessary for life.

4 When you think of the word “respiration,” you might think about the process of breathing, which is actually called ventilation.

5 So how is breathing related to cellular respiration?
about the reactants and products of cellular respiration.

6 Glucose Oxygen Carbon Water Energy Dioxide How do your cells get the oxygen they need to go through aerobic respiration? 2 Step Process

7 must enter the body through the lungs of the respiratory system
Oxygen O2 Step One: Oxygen (O2) must enter the body through the lungs of the respiratory system

8 Step Two: Oxygen (O2) is transported by the red blood cells of the circulatory system to all the various parts of the body.

9 We still need glucose for cellular respiration to take place.
Glucose Oxygen Carbon Water Energy Dioxide But What about Glucose We still need glucose for cellular respiration to take place.

10 Glucose must be broken down in order in the mitochondria to release the energy in its chemical bonds and create ATP

11 photosynthetic Since we are not , we must get the glucose we need from the foods that we eat.

12 The breakdown of our food into the glucose we need for cellular respiration is the
responsibility of the digestive system.

13 the circulatory system.
The glucose is then transported thought the body to the needy cells by, you guessed it, the circulatory system.

14 . . . But what about the byproducts of cellular respiration ? ? ?
We know our bodies use the energy (ATP), but what about the CO2 and Water ? ? ?

15 The CO2 produced during cellular
respiration is carried by the circulatory system back to the lungs.

16 The CO2 is then exhaled by the lungs

17 . . . But what about the water?

18 Finally, the water is transported by the circulatory system to the kidneys of the excretory system so that it can be removed from the body.
