A. Obedience is better than sacrifice or worship.

C. Obey every authority unless directed by a higher authority.
A practical application of this principle is when a child is growing up they may adopt the views of his parents. Yet when he is older he may develop his own views that may differ from what he was taught. He has placed another authority as being higher than that of his parents even if it is his own authority. Likewise a church member may believe a certain thing to be true because his pastor or teacher told them it was true. They may find out later that it is not by reading scripture or further teaching from another source and change their views.
1. A well loved and trusted authority may not always tell the truth.
2. Sometimes the truth is harder to believe than a lie.
3. A lie from a well loved and trusted source is hard to defeat.
(This only applies to human authority; not to God since He cannot lie.)

A. Let God Be True and every man a liar.
Romans 3: 4, God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
B. All other authorities will be put down by God in the end
I Corinthians 15:24, Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
C. No matter what man believes, says or does; we need to obey God.
