Offspring of F344×DA F1 crosses, with agouti coats and dark brown eyes, resembled the DA parental strain. (B) F344× (F344×DA) F1 backcross pups and a F344×DA F1 dam. Offspring had a wide range of coat colors including white (albino), agouti, black, and hooded (either black or agouti). Albino rats had red eyes; rats with coat pigmentation had dark brown eyes.
