5 What is the same about it?
Is this the same flame? Draw out the idea that the energy is passed from the first candle to the second. They are not the same flame but the second flame has come from the first. This is like karmic energy being passed on after rebirth. What is the same about it? What is different? What is being passed on?

Is your understanding of these statements red, green or amber? Rebirth is the belief held by Buddhists. There do not believe there is an atman/soul that moves from one body to another. However, there is a sense of continuity between the two lives – this is like a candle being lit from another candle. Your karma that is passed on will depend what you are reborn as. There are six realms you can be born into, the human realm is the highest. The ultimate goal is to reach nirvana.
