Mida on uut võistlusmäärustes? Madis Lepajõe UCI komissar
EJL kohtunike, korraldajate ja treenerite seminar (cyclo-cross) 10. septembril a Tartus Mida on uut võistlusmäärustes? Madis Lepajõe UCI komissar

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Millest räägin: Muudatused võistlusmäärustes
Mandaati hilinemine Stardiprotseduur Abivahend 80% reegli kasutamiseks Küsimused/vastused

PART 5 Cyclo-cross bis U-turns (1) U-turns on the course shall be installed and protected such as riders may not hold on the pole or on the barrier in the centre of the U-turns (article introduced on ).

PART 5 Cyclo-cross bis U-turns (2) Objective: new specification on the course’s U-turn so that riders may not hold on pole or barriers. This kind of help gives an advantage to the rider whose trajectory or position close to the inner lane of the course allows it and not to other riders. Thus, this is an inequality matter.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross bis U-turns (3) Situation to be avoided:

PART 5 Cyclo-cross bis U-turns (4) Commissaires are not asked to penalise riders if they hold on to one barrier or pole. The course inspection and eventually course changes should avoid this situation before it happens. Some course sections may be such as it is not necessary to set any specific U-turn (off-camber, downhill).

PART 5 Cyclo-cross bis U-turns (5) U-turn to avoid the situation:

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Obstacles (1) The course may include a single section of planks. This obstacle must consist of two planks placed minimum 4 metres and maximum 6 metres apart. …. ….Either or both of the planks referenced above may be replaced by one or two tree logs, which ever the case may be. If a tree log is used, its maximum thickness shall be below 40cm. Otherwise, all rules applicable to the specifications of planks shall apply to tree logs as well.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross 5.1.024 Obstacles (2)
Objective: recognition of tree logs as course obstacles, with the same rules as planks. Obstacles accepted: 1 log + 1 plank 2 logs 2 planks Obstacles refused: 1 log alone 1 plank alone 1 section of two planks + 1 section of 1 or two logs

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Equipment changes (1) A rider may only take the pit lane to change his bicycle, wheel(s) or for ohter mechanical assistance. Should a rider take the pit lane for any other reason, the commissaires shall decide and the decision shall be final.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Equipment changes (2) Objective: allow commissaires not to punish systematically with a disqualification a rider entering the pit lane and whose bike is not ready, especially for amateurs and young categories. We ask commissaires to appreciate if this situation is volunteer or not and if the rider has any advantage. The former practice called „Stop and go“ is still prohibited.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Attendants Each rider may be accompanied by a paramedical assistant and two mechanics. The paramedical assistant and the mechanics must be provided by the organiser with a free accreditation, which gives them access to the area reserved for them by virtue of their office. The accreditations must be distributed outside the circuit, in a clearly indicated place.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Duration of events The duration of events must be as close as possible to: - 40 minutes for the under 23 women’s events - 40 minutes for junior men's events - 50 minutes for under 23 men's events - 60 minutes for the elite men's events and for events in which elite and men Under 23 ride together. During elite women’s events and for events in which women elite and women under 23 ride together, the duration must be between 40 and 50 minutes.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Start procedure : In any case, the starter shall be the President of the commissaires panel. Keep in mind that you can interrupt the start procedure if something is not conform, regarding the riders behaviour or the safety of the start zone. That is the reason why, the PCP shall be autonom to trigger the start, whatever the used system (lights, sound, whistle, …).

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Bikes: Disk brakes are still allowed for cyclo-cross events. As per article ter, using cameras on bicycles is allowed also in Cyclo-cross.

PART 5 Cyclo-cross Feeding:
As per last season, feeding the riders is not allowed. Riders can start with a bottle or receive a bike equipped with a bottle, being handed out a bottle is forbidden.
