2. Residence permits
Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims and replacing council Framework decision 2002/629/JHA, Article 11: „Member states shall … ensure that assistance and support are provided to victims before, during and for an appropriate period of time after the conclusion of criminal proceedings...“
Practise: usually stressful situation for victims after criminal proceedings have ended.

3. Legal aid
Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims and replacing council Framework decision 2002/629/JHA, Article 11/3: „Member states shall …. ensure that assistance and support for a victim are not made conditional on the victim´s willingness to cooperate in the criminal investigation, prosecution or trial..“
Practise: available only to those who are willing to cooperate with the police

4. Reflection period
Programme for the support and protection of victims of trafficking
Reflection period of 60 days.
Practise: all practical logistics need to be done within this period. Time for „reflection“ is therefore shorter.
