7 Geographical terrains in the Arab world
Definition of terrains: It is a land of a particular kind. Arab world terrains Three types: 1-huge arid desert 2-fertile south and north 3-high Mountain

8 Land forms They are features of the earth’s surface
Kinds of the landforms Mountain Hill Desert Island Valley Plateaus Plains Ocean River Lake

9 Landforms: They are natural physical features found on the surface of the earth.
they are created by: forces of nature such as “ wind – water – ice” movement of the earth’s plates Some can be created in a few hours, others take millions of years.

10 Landscapes: Group of landforms in a particular area.

11 Mountain: They are areas that are much higher than the surrounding land, they are very tall and they have pointed tops.

12 Hills: They are the areas that are higher than the surrounding land but shorter and rounder than mountains.

13 Rivers: They are large streams of water that flow across the land.

14 Lakes: They are bodies of water that land all around them.

15 Valley: They are areas of low land that are in between mountains or hills.

16 Plateaus: They are areas that have flat surface and higher than the ground like mountains.

17 Plains They are large flat areas

18 Desert: They are area of dry places that can have little or no rain.

19 Islands: They are area of land that are completely surrounded by water.

20 Oceans They are large bodies of salty water that cover ¾ of the earth surface.
