3. Introduction Procter & Gamble (P&G) The Need for Telecommunication
Founded in 1837.
Founded by William Procter and James Gamble.
4.4 billion people served (out of 7 billion).
The Need for Telecommunication
Vital for the organization’s smooth execution of operations all over the world.
Different time zones with different areas and regions.
We will look at some of the technologies used at P&G in terms of Telecommunication, Network Design and Security.

4. Telecommunication Wired Twisted Pair Cables Advantages: Disadvantages:
Simple and flexible.
Easy to install and maintain.
Cheap and lightweight.
Disadvantages:
High attenuation
Low bandwidth
Low data rate

5. Telecommunication Wireless Local Area Network (LAN)
Group of computers, switches, routers connected together in a small geographic area
Perfect for internal company communication (intranet, company , etc…)
Advantages
High speed data transfer rates Full
Disadvantages
Cabling is primary medium

Used to continue provide short-term power supply during a power outage (for emergency backups for example)
Some advanced UPS can also correct some problems in the a network

Technology used to provide users with remote access to internal company resources
It provides security due to the authentication required before access as well as encrypted data

8. Conclusion
Telecommunication is becoming more and more important to the operation of multi-national corporations.
We looked at some of the technologies P&G utilizes in its infrastructure and observed how dependent a multi-national company is on telecommunication technologies.
