To apply this shape style when using a Kodiak primary color (available in the Theme Colors gallery), follow the steps below. Draw a shape. Remove drop shadow: With the shape selected, from the Home tab under Format click Quick Styles then under Shadow, select No Shadow. Only Theme color as Fill Color: With the shape selected, from the Home tab, click Shape Fill to open the Theme Colors gallery. Click one of the Theme Colors to fill the shape. Border color 25% Darker of Fill Theme color: With the shape selected, from the Home tab, click Shape Outline to open the Theme Colors gallery. Choose Darker 25% of the same Theme Color to change the outline to match the fill color. Border weight is 1 1/2 pt: With the shape selected, from the Home tab, click Shape Outline to select Weight, then select 1 ½ pt.

Brief caption or descriptive statement that explains content This is a sample Column Chart slide ideal for showcasing revenue data, product or market information. To Customize and Edit this Chart, follow the steps below (this applies to all slides in this template that contain charts): To Change Font Color/Size: Select text, right-click and adjust the font setting on the Mini toolbar. Select desired attributes to change: font, size, boldness, color, etc. Note: many of the same commands can also be accessed from the Font group of the Home tab. Edit Chart: Click the chart to edit and select the Chart Tools Design tab (or double-click on the chart). Click the Edit Data button to access the underlying Excel 2007 spreadsheet. Copying Data From a Separate Excel Spreadsheet: From an existing Excel spreadsheet, select the range of cells to be copied, select copy (Ctrl C). In PowerPoint, click the chart to edit and select the Chart Tools Design tab (or double- click on the chart). Click the Edit Data button to open the spreadsheet for editing. Select all the data in the Chart in Microsoft Office PowerPoint spreadsheet by clicking the top left corner cell, right-click and select Delete. Click in the first empty cell of the spreadsheet and paste (Ctrl V) to place the data copied from the other Excel file. Changing Orientation and/or Scale of Data: If no chart elements appear in your chart it is because either 1) the default orientation for pre-made template charts displays data series in rows, not columns, or 2) the axis scale may have to be adjusted (see below). Change Orientation: Click the chart to edit and select the Chart Tools Design tab (or double-click on the chart). Click the Switch Row/Column button. If the Switch Row/Column button is disabled, click the Select Data button and then click the Switch Row/Column button from within the Select Data Source dialog box, click OK. Change Scale: Right-click the labels next to the chart’s vertical (value) axis, select Format Axis from the pop-up menu. With Axis Options selected on the left, check all boxes under Auto to automatically provide the appropriate scale based on the data. To provide your own values, select the Fixed option, then type new values in the boxes provided to the right. Click Close when done. To Apply this Style to your Own Chart: Click the chart and select the Chart Tools Design tab. Click the More arrow in the lower right corner of the Chart Styles gallery to view all of the design styles. Click the thumbnail for Style 10 (second row, second column) to apply to your chart. To Insert or Delete Rows in Table: To delete a row place cursor in a cell of the row, right-click for a pop up menu, select Delete Row. You can also use the Insert and Delete Rows and Columns tools on the Table Tools Layout tab to perform these actions. To Insert or Delete Columns in Table: To delete a column, place cursor above the column (you will see a solid downward pointing arrow) click to select the column, right-click on the selected column, chose Delete Column from the pop up menu. To insert a column, place cursor above the column you wish to insert the new column before (you will see a solid downward pointing arrow) click to select the column, right-click for a pop up menu, select Insert and make a selection from the submenu. You can also use the Insert and Delete Rows and Columns tools on the Table Tools Layout tab to perform these actions. To Highlight a Cell, Column or Row (for emphasis): Click to select an individual cell or click and drag through the desired column(s) or row(s). From the Table Tools Design tab, select the Shading button and select a desired fill color. (Note: It is best to use white text over dark backgrounds and black or dark gray text over light backgrounds.)
