1. Who is she?
Anne Frank (安妮·弗兰克) was born in Frankfurt, Germany (德国法兰克福), in She was a teenage Jewish girl. In 1933, the Frank family was forced into hiding in Amsterdam (荷兰首都阿姆斯特丹) when Adolph Hitler (阿道夫·希特勒) was the leader of Germany.

Anne was given a diary for her thirteenth birthday and began writing in it the next day. She had a passion for writing and managed to keep her diary throughout the time her family was in hiding. Her last writing was just before the hiding place was discovered and the family was sent off to concentration camps (集中营).
Her diary is about her family relationships, boyfriends, hopes and dreams for the future, and the horrific details of a secret life in the hiding place, the “Secret Annex.” It paints a touching and honest picture of an ordinary girl growing in extraordinary (不平常的) situation.

As well as the Frank family, there are four other Jews in the “Secret Annex.” Everyone lives in the fear of being discovered. And it’s certainly not easy for eight people to live in such a small space.

They had to keep the lights off and stay silent and they were not allowed to speak or even flush the toilet until evening.
