Interviews with customers ,suggests your procurement preference, is “ buy an AWS Managed service”. This reduces your operational burden – lets you focus on the things you know best. But depending on how you want to measure it , there are several thousand very important software companies. At , we think have landed most of the important ones. But we know there are more. But Marketplace augments the AWS platform, and makes the selection and deployment easy. INFRASTRUCTURE Regions Availability Zones Points of Presence

5 AWS Marketplace AWS Marketplace is a managed software catalog that helps customers find, buy, and immediately start using the software and services they need to build products and run their businesses. 3,800+ software listings Over 1,170 participating ISVs Open source and commercial software Bring-your-own-license Procure new Deployed in 14 AWS Regions Curated Integrated to AWS Billing Ties products into AWS Service Catalog

6 2 Why the Marketplace

7 Why we built AWS Marketplace …
Challenges for Businesses Software Procurement Finding the Right Solutions Overprovisioning of Software Scaling Quickly Multiple Vendors to Manage Ask what challenges they face when they try to solve a problem? Some if not all of the above bullet points will resonate with the customer. Address the customers pain points and allow for the connection between problem and how AWS Marketplace solves that problem.

8 Reduce TCO, Increase ROI
Pay as you go Software Low Risk evaluation Integrated billing with AWS reduces procurement friction Easy to change software vendors Reduce costs with annual subscription and negotiated deals with vendors offered with AWS Unleveraged Software Just like server utilization impacts TCO, underutilized software licenses and complex software procurement cycles add unnecessary cost Main themes here: Marketplace software increases ROI/Lowers TCO Same value proposition as other AWS services Because you can move fast you can innovate quicker, launch new products quickly, etc Annual Subscriptions similar to RI’s on AWS

9 AWS Marketplace – A public managed catalog
2 1 Submit Test Preview Publish 7/24 Scanning Vulnerability notifications and removal/work-rounds Vendor Supply Portal Centralize digital assets 3 Sunset older versions Add instance type/region Ongoing catalog additions Version updates* 5 Actively monitor health & expansion 4 But what we are being told, is that our value as we innovate, is much more than shopping mall or an advertising page. We are a managed catalog service. Why does this matter? As each org in this room, stands up software on AWS, you can either set up your own sourcing and version management model, or you can rely on us. And we are engineering on many dimensions here. We engineer on discovery and search; we index; we enable a publishing flow for the vendors – we just landed a new workflow portal, 2 weeks ago, for the ISV’s. Built on AWS SWF, simple workflow, we have enabled a faster tool for multiple roles at the ISV to author, and update versions into our catalog. We have built out a multi continent operations team – US and EMEA – which scans, daily, the catalog for security. If we find risk, we take down the AMI, and we notify you. These are costs that we can remove for you. They increase YOUR speed. We monitor the performance of the provisioning. And we make it increasingly easy for the ISV to publish versions to various OS’s. They can load their IP, and bind the software to up to 7 different OS’s. And we teach the ISV how to design for our metering API’s. All of this, saves you time and cost. *Vendor dependent

19 AWS Service Catalog: Simplify Access Management
AWS Service Catalog: Simplifying Access Management Private Catalog for Organizing and Launching Infrastructure & Software Services on AWS AWS Service Catalog allows organizations to create and manage catalogs of IT services and software on AWS. It enables users to quickly deploy approved IT services they need in a self-service manner. Control Standardization Governance Agility Self-service Time to market Administrator Users AWS Service Catalog allows you to set up a private catalog, to apply better governance over a catalog of your defined services that you want teams repeatedly using. This catalog of services can be any combination of configured AWS Services and software. You can have a service or product being a single EC2 virtual machine instance, but it can also be a full 3-tier web application architecture. Consistency of using well designed or optimized resources, helps your efficiency and scaling. Within the service you include various configuration options, which you can preset or have configured by your end users upon launch time using a parameter they can set. This catalog of services are your actual products curated for your end users that can they can then deploy. Users can launch products, see what is running and they can also update or terminate their products. The catalog and its services are configured by your administrator, the end users can focus on their applications and use self service to manage their application stacks. This is a Private Catalog. Not a public catalog. Every org needs one. Our goal is to make it easy, scalable, and pervasive.

25 Use Case: Accelerate data migration to Amazon Redshift
Using Redshift, Philips needed to load data faster. They discovered Attunity on AWS Marketplace and launched Attunity CloudBeam over a weekend A Philips’ Data Scientist used Free Trial functionality to test Moved 35 Million records in a matter of 90 minutes vs. 2+ months Use Case showing the agility and functionality of how AWS Marketplace solved a problem quickly.

26 Innovate faster and accelerate your journey to the cloud
Evaluate and compare software choices in AWS Marketplace Use BYOL and upgrade to newer versions Shift your customers to Pay-as-you-go or SaaS Contracts Start a trial, AWS Quick Star Learn how to integrate multiple AWS Marketplace Solutions Ok, we hope today, between myself, Nike and John Wiley, that we have given you food for thought on how you think about your software assets. Most companies, as you migrate or transition, have a broad array of resources. I would have you think about the following: getting your hands around your full software library. Deciding what projects drive what level of standardization or modernization you want to pursue. Begin to think about AWS Marketplace as public library of assets you can use – and if you have licenses from vendors, become aware of their match of a BYOL right in our public catalog. BYOL useage of Markeplace is rising rapidly – it lets you deploy faster, use latest versions, and also find out if your vendor has enabled that. If not, look for new vendors with new subscription model we might have enabled. And as you build your own library of resources, consider Service Catalog as a Private Catalog service, that can help you better organize and manage the array of resources you are setting up. Ultimately, plug in a Spend Management tool, either AWS budgets or a Third party tool such as Cloud Health or Cloudability or Apptio, , and over time we have ideas on applying Spend Controls to Launch rights in Service Catalog. . More to come on that. In total ,we want to help you innovate faster, reduce costs, and drive efficiency into your model.

34 Goodwill Gains Peace of Mind with N2W & AWS for Backup and Recovery
Constant outages of physical servers prevented stores from operating and students from learning. Uses Cloud Protection Manager by N2W software in AWS Marketplace for backup and disaster recovery. Designed for zero downtime: can turn servers on from a backup image immediately after a failure. At deployment of CPM, they spun it up into an image and enabled the services within a couple of hours. Since we’ve gone with AWS, our systems have been up 100% of the time. Mark Boyd President & CEO, Goodwill Industries, Southern NJ/Philadelphia Goodwill's mission is to help put people to work. 35 Europol, Intel, AWS, and Barracuda Join to Fight Cybercrime
This is a good example of Corporate Social Responsibility: These key relationships are making Internet better for millions. Europol needed a secure, high-traffic website to help them in their fight against ransomware. Barracuda in AWS Marketplace is Europol’s infrastructure for their website, NoMoreRansom.org Intel implemented the solution, did the testing & vulnerability assessment, and made the site available…in a few days!
