Simile Poem The Base Stealer - Poem by Robert Francis Poised between going on and back, pulled Both ways taut like a tightrope-walker, Fingertips pointing the opposites, Now bouncing tiptoe like a dropped ball Or a kid skipping rope, come on, come on, Running a scattering of steps sidewise, How he teeters, skitters, tingles, teases, Taunts them, hovers like an ecstatic bird, He's only flirting, crowd him, crowd him, Delicate, delicate, delicate, delicate—now!

Metaphor Poem Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, a
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, a And sorry I could not travel both b And be one traveler, long I stood a And looked down one as far as I could a To where it bent in the undergrowth; b Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Metaphor Poem

Personification Poem Planet Space By Carter and Joe The black hole awoke, He stretched his mouth with a mighty roar, As he beckoned all the stars, The black hole started to erode, Is this the end...? The sun says, 'Leave the stars alone and, Pick on someone your own size, Oh yeah, I almost forgot, leave my solar system and never come back!'

Hyperbole Poem I Cannot Go To School Today! by Shel Silverstein "I cannot go to school today" Said little Peggy Ann McKay. "I have the measles and the mumps, A gash, a rash and purple bumps. My mouth is wet, my throat is dry. I'm going blind in my right eye. My tonsils are as big as rocks, I've counted sixteen chicken pox. And there's one more - that's seventeen, And don't you think my face looks green? My leg is cut, my eyes are blue, It might be the instamatic flu. I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke, I'm sure that my left leg is broke. (Cont.)

Hyperbole Poem (cont.) My hip hurts when I move my chin, My belly button's caving in. My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained, My 'pendix pains each time it rains. My toes are cold, my toes are numb, I have a sliver in my thumb. My neck is stiff, my voice is weak, I hardly whisper when I speak. My tongue is filling up my mouth, I think my hair is falling out. My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight, My temperature is one-o-eight. My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear, There's a hole inside my ear. I have a hangnail, and my heart is ... What? What's that? What's that you say? You say today is Saturday? G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

Super Hero Poem – Superman by Five for Fighting
I can’t stand to fly I’m not that naïve I’m just out to find The better part of me I’m more than a bird I’m more than a plane More than some pretty face beside a train It’s not easy to be me Wish that I could cry Fall upon my knees Find a way to lie About a home I’ll never see

Symbol Poem with Color Ode to Blue by Akara K A color too deep for comprehension It is the hue of the bright morning sky The calmness it brings relieves all tension Such a happy shade, the tint of a sigh It is the color of both day and night As equally shared in the dark’s cold arms As with the soft warmth of the day so bright A hue which has so very many charms And yet not a single flaw to be named It truly is the best color, this is true Compared to it, all other hues are shamed What a wonderful sight we see in blue! A color of so very many names Azure, navy, and none of them the same!

Symbol Poem with Color Colors Of Emotion - by Marchelle Walter Red is the color of anger, Pink, the color of love, Green is the color of envy, And yellow, the color of joy. Every color has an emotion, Like blue the color of sad, I am the color of loyalty, Now can you tell me what's yours.
