3. “Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flocks to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the flames of the fire from within the bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, ‘I will go over and see this strange sight – why the bush does not burn up.” Exodus 3:1-3 NIV

God always has a way of getting our attention!
When Moses draws near to see this strange thing, God engages him in a conversation – Exodus 3:4-6

God had seen the misery of His people and heard their cries
He had come to rescue them and to fulfill His promise
And He had chosen Moses to be their deliverer – Exodus 3:10

He began to make excuses
Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh? – Exodus 3:11
What if they ask me ? – Exodus 3:13
What if they don’t believe me? – Exodus 4:1
I can’t talk very well – Exodus 4:10
O Lord, please just send someone else to do it – Exodus 4:13

What God thinks about our excuses
Any excuse for not obeying God’s call is a lame excuse! – Exodus 4:10-15
Whenever God asks us to do something, He always provides what we need to achieve it! – 2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 4:13; Ephesians 3:20

This was just the beginning for Moses
