Come in quietly , pick up your spiral, and go directly to your seat Take out the following items: Concept Map Assignment Sheet Lined sheet of paper/ rough draft Wait for further instructions from Mrs. Law

3 Learning Target I can make connections between the different concepts of Mesopotamia The purpose of this is to be able to distinguish among, explain, and apply the relationship between different concepts we have studied for Mesopotamia.

4 Task You will create a Concept Map on Mesopotamia. You must include all the words from the word bank and the concept map must be in color. On the back of your concept map, complete one of the questions located on the direction sheet in a CER response. This will be due Friday, Oct. 30 at the beginning of class!

With a central trunk (central point), the thickest branches are main points, and the thinner branches are subpoints of those.

Now you can add the first of your main branches. Branches connect everything on your Map, radiating your thoughts and reflecting the way your mind makes associations.

Under each main branch, add a keyword to represent the main elements of this unit. This is not limited as this is just Organize your vocabulary words into lists that relate to the main points. 11 Step 4- Creating a Rough Draft
Under your list or on the back make a rough draft of your ideas. Sketch pictures, add words and start making connections Remember this is just a rough draft to get your main ideas and formatting down. Do not spend a lot of time on the picture details.

12 Step 5: Transfer your ideas into a final copy.
Only use pencil at first to get your basic design and facts down… then go back and add color!
