4 UYC Membership Statistics

6 UYC – Membership History Breakdown

7 Membership History

8 Membership History Summary
The membership numbers indicate that in 2012 we had 371 members and in 2013 we have 349. In 2013 we had 52 resignations and 21 New Members and 6 Suspended members who will return in 2014. The Previous years trend was indicating an average of 25 to 30 membership resignations and 15 to 20 New joiners. This year 2013 has seen an increase in resignations In 2013 we have had a net loss of 22 memberships It should be highlighted that the number of resignations this year is higher but the impact on revenue has been reduced by the mix of new memberships.

9 Membership History Summary
The data shows most membership types staying constant with a gradual decline in family membership over the last few years. Family Membership (FM) decreased by 15 in 2012 and 3 in This is a welcome change to the trend and as a club we should be actively focusing on the recruitment of Families. The FM figure of 175 represents the FM memberships and not the total number people within an individual membership Typically a Family Membership could represent 4 people We must remember that current economical climate and the November 2009 flood has had a great impact on our membership between 2009/2010 and it still continues in 2013.

13 UYC – 2014 Membership Payments
There is a proposal later in the meeting to change the Fees and Donations payment dates to be a single payment or Direct Debit spread over 9 months. I would like to put some rationale behind this proposal. The change is required to allow the club to :- To have a clear understanding of the numbers of members who are continuing their membership for the coming year, which allows better understanding of finance available. To bring the finances in line with our companies financial Year, which reduces the complexities of our financial reporting. To simplify the Gift Aid claiming process into one claim per year. Just in case you thought you got away with it

A Club Refinancing proposal was put to the Membership and was accepted. UYC Negotiated and purchased the Land Adjacent to the club. The refinancing and the potential additional revenue from the land has allowed the release of some capital for improvements to the club and equipment.

20 UYC – MY RESPECTS On A Personal Note. I would like to commend the Management Committee for its forward thinking views and actions. I support the direction that the club is currently moving in and the approach that’s been taken. I would also like to pay my respects to the individuals who go through the time consuming and difficult process of applying for various Grants and Donations. The club has benefitted from a number of these recently and I think the membership should be grateful to those people for their massive efforts to gain grants and donations. Whether it was successful or not.
