3 Y Get It? Project, comprised of a mobile application--developed in collaboration with Mt. Sinai App Lab—and Peer Engagement Education Professionals (PEEPs) placed at two engagement hubs: Long Island Crisis Center Pride for Youth and Northwell Health. The primary aim of the Y Get It? Project is to facilitate the timely entry of young people (ages 18-34) into HIV care, the prevention of vulnerable youth from dropping out of care, and achievement of sustained viral load suppression among those in care.

4 How Far We’ve Come

5 Implementation Staffing is complete and hubs are prepared to advocate and promote the YGetIt? Project. Our app will launch during AIDS Institute World AIDS Day Events in December. Recruit 2-3 participants per month beginning December. Enroll approximately 20 participants by end of contract year 2017 IRBs have been submitted or are in the final stages of submission process.

Promoting YGI Integration Integrate PEEPs into existing programs serving and utilized by our target demographic. Community events Weekly case conferences ARTAS(Newly diagnosed youth program at Northwell Health) Peer support groups Testing community (Use of mobile facilities for enrollment activities)

7 Recruitment Recruitment will begin on World AIDS Day December 2016
Developed recruitment ads/brochures incorporating our graphic serial ‘Tested’ and mobile application ‘get’ Working closely with Engagement Hubs (Northwell Health and Pride for Youth) Planning focus groups to beta test app prior to launch

8 Recruitment Challenges
Anticipated challenges include: Effectively reaching priority population; 18-34yoa, AA, Hispanic, MSM, fallen out of care, newly diagnosed…etc. Garnering participant interest Maintaining user engagement Preemptive approach include: Stay current with messaging Communicate frequently with people on the ground Vary content Find people where they are Utilize mobile units for enrollment process Build on existing proven efforts
