Look at the types of employment in Rio mind map. Good: Colour code the mind map into public services, service industries, construction, and industry. Better: Describe the types of jobs people might have in the different employment areas (public services, service industries, construction, industry). Best: Look at your mind map and see which employment area contributes the most to the economy of Brazil. Explain why people would prefer to work in jobs in that area over other types of jobs.

5 What could be another issue that stems from unemployment?
New Information/Activity Brazil’s economy was hit by a deep recession in This has increased the amount of unemployment. Unemployment rates in the favelas are over 20% and most people work in the informal economy. Informal economy: people make a living however they can (jobs like street vendors, drivers, labourers, maids, sewing and handicraft production) Read the news article about unemployment in Rio. Task 1 - In the summary points column on the page, summarise the main points of the article. Task 2 - Describe the issue discussed in the article and explain what the people believe have caused the issue. What could be another issue that stems from unemployment?
