9 EMERGENCY RESPONSE ONCE EMERGENCY IS CONFIRMED AN EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION MAY BE SENT NOTIFICATION MAY BE WITHHELD IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT THE INFORMATION WOULD HINDER LAW ENFORCEMENT OR BE DETRIMENTAL TO THE SAFETY OF STUDENTS/ FACULTY/STAFF

10 CAMPUS SAFETY Keep cars doors locked.
Do not leave purses or other valuables in your vehicle. Books and personal property (laptops, IPads, IPods, cell phones) should have identifying marks. Keep your office locked when you are out.

11 ALCOHOL/DRUGS ON CAMPUS
UNLAWFUL MANUFACTURE, DISTRIBUTION, POSSESSION, USE, IS PROHIBITED ON CAMPUS

12 YOUR ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT WILL BE OVER IN LESS THAN 8 MINUTES
ACTIVE EMERGENCY/ HOSTILE INTRUDER When an active emergency on campus is actively causing harm or threatening imminent deadly harm to people, you must immediately seek cover and call YOUR ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT WILL BE OVER IN LESS THAN 8 MINUTES

13 GIVE AS MANY DETAILS AS POSSIBLE:
YOUR NAME, LOCATION, NUMBER OF ASSAILANTS AND OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION.

You may not see an officer for an extended period of time depending on the type of emergency When you receive the ENS alert, take actions as per the EAP It’s up to each employee to protect students and assist them

15 Students are not going to know what to do or where to go
Students are not going to know what to do or where to go. Make sure you know so you can advise and protect them Understand we may be in lockdown for a long period of time If we need to evacuate campus you need to be aware of how it is done and where to send students and staff.

16 When you encounter the police, keep your hands over your head and comply with the officers instructions.

17 If you are evacuating, carry nothing that could be mistaken as a weapon.
Law Enforcement from other departments will be on campus and they have no idea who you are, to them everyone is a suspect.

18 FIRE ALARMS All building evacuations will occur when an alarm sounds and/or upon notification by emergency personnel. When the building evacuation (fire) alarm is activated during an emergency, leave by the nearest “SAFE EXIT” and alert others to do the same.

19 Assist the disabled in exiting the building.
Once outside, proceed to your evacuation area and remain there until the all clear has been given by emergency personnel. Do not return to an evacuated building unless told to do so by emergency personnel. Please refer to the Emergency Action Plan for fire evacuation routes

21 Immediately take cover in sheltered areas in each building
Immediately take cover in sheltered areas in each building. Hallways, bathrooms, and windowless rooms are safest areas. Close the windows, blinds and/or curtains in all rooms and close the doors as you leave the room. Disconnect all computer equipment, if time permits, before leaving the work area.
