Therefore, Operating Engineers take courses in the following… 135, 230 – Forefront in Operating smart buildings systems 225 – Understanding sustainable practices 220 – Holistic approach in O&M facilities ?? – guiding & monitoring conveyance of utilities (water, gas, electric, waste, recycling) ?? – Forecasting maintenance via CMMS & SAP software Extensive theoretical & practical training for Facilities Engineering Technology (FET)

Local 399 Certified by State of Illinois Recognized - City of Chicago as Data Verifiers for Energy Benchmarking Ordinance LEED Accredited Operating Engineers Universal Certified with the EPA under EPA 608 Licensed by the City of Chicago to operate high pressure vessels Accredited by HLC (higher leaning commission) and ICCB (Illinois CC board) The certifications required and earned by IL operating engineers is unmatched in the industry.

Many paradigms exist in the D&C industry that prevent it, such as “designing and buying technology in silos”…leading to disparate, disconnected systems. You MUST have an integrated D&C approach that involves the very building operators from the beginning…to ensure that the technology delivered is fully unified into a single platform. This is just the FIRST STEP in the “smart building”.

Smart Airports Search & Wayfinding Security & Check-in Wait times
Non-Proprietary Cyber-Secure Once a building is on a non-proprietary, cyber-secure, unified platform, the future of airports is some technology implementations away (similar to downloading apps on a smart phone). The facilities infrastructure will be interacting with the Operating Engineers as well as the Travelers in ways we cannot even imagine today. But regardless of how sophisticated the “Smart Building” gets, don’t think for a second you won’t have highly trained Operators with their eyes on the analytics and their hands on the wheel. …with the Operating Engineers at the wheel
