History A state of the United States in the central Pacific Ocean , consisting of over 20 volcanic islands and atolls, including Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and Molokai: discovered by Captain Cook in 1778; annexed by the US in The islands became a U.S. territory in 1900, which was admitted as the 50th state in 1959.

Climates:pleasant Winds blows from NorthEast all year long leading to more rain on Northeastern slope and less on the other side.So one side is tropical rainforest while other side is tropical grassland.

Scenic Spots in Hawaii Six islands

Kauai is known as “The Garden Isle” for its tropical rainforests, fertile valleys and lush flora. So it’s not surprising to find some of Hawaii’s most beautiful botanical gardens on Kauai.

On Oahu, Hawaii’s timeless beauty blends with the modern luxuries of today. Swim in the warm waters of world-famous Waikiki one moment, then enjoy the dramatic mountain views. Watch the surfers on the legendary North Shore by day, then dance the night away in vibrant nightlife spots around Honolulu.

Serene seascapes. Unspoiled coastlines. Untamed wilderness
Serene seascapes. Unspoiled coastlines. Untamed wilderness. Visit Molokai and travel back to a timeless place. This is an island that stays true to its Hawaiian traditions, tucked away from the hustle of the outside world. Where no building is taller than a coconut tree. Where there’s no traffic and no traffic lights. Where you can feel the mana (power) of Hawaiian culture

Away from the crowds and hustle of everyday life, Lanai is a destination of untouched tranquility. This romantic island is a true getaway.

From its heavenly beaches to its scenic natural wonders, there are plenty of reasons why Maui has been voted “Best Island” by readers for more than a dozen years.

Hawaii’s Big Island isn’t just big, it’s still growing
Hawaii’s Big Island isn’t just big, it’s still growing. The Island of Hawaii is the youngest island in the Hawaiian chain and is also by far the biggest, providing a vast canvas of environments to discover a variety of unrivaled natural wonders. This is the home of one of the world’s most active volcanoes (Kilauea), the tallest sea mountain in the world at more than 33,000 feet (Maunakea), the most massive mountain in the world (Maunaloa) and the largest park in the state (Hawaii Volcanoes National Park).

THE CITIZENS: People who live in Hawaii or who come from Hawaii are not all referred to as Hawaiians. Dictionaries have described Hawaiians as natives or residents of the State of Hawaii. Increasingly, however, this broad terminology has given way to a distinctive division between indigenous or native Hawaiians and non-natives. Today, the term Hawaiians is generally reserved for those people who are indigenous or native people of the Hawaiian Islands.

Surfing is one of the most popular sports in Hawaii.

Dancing Hula Like many other traditional dance forms, hula was heavily discouraged by missionaries and other representatives of Euro-America in the nineteenth century. It seemed to them immoral, and also a waste of time. But it survived in the countryside, and, as in the usual colonial/post-colonial stories, there was eventually a vigorous revival, headed by cultural loyalists.

Food The islands ethnic diversity makes eating out a real treat. You can find every kind of Japanese food, an array of regional Chinese cuisine, spicy Korean specialties, native Hawaiian dishes and excellent Thai and Vietnamese food. Fresh fish is readily available throughout the islands as well as an abundance of fruit including avocado, coconut, guava, mango and papaya.
