3 Builder Responsibilities for Sustainable Design
Use the natural environment in lot preparation to enhance the home’s long-term performance. Use advanced framing techniques to get the most from building materials. Focus on the best ways to handle waste from construction. Build more energy-efficient structures and incorporate more energy-efficient mechanical systems, appliances, and lighting into a home. Use methods to reduce indoor and outdoor water usage. Control moisture, ventilation and other issues to create a more comfortable and healthier indoor living environment. Inform the home owner on green aspects of the home and how best to operate and maintain the home.
