2 The Bridge from Strong Doctrine to Spiritual Living Romans 12:1,2
Chapters 1-8 explain doctrines of condemnation, justification, sanctification, glorification Chapters 9-11 explain to Israel why the Abrahamic and Davidic Covenants have not been fulfilled. Chapters exhorts us to live in conformity with the exalted position in which we are placed and in view of the God-given ability we have to live such a life. Learning translates into living. What we believe determines how we behave. Doctrine and Duty always go together. Doctrine shows us why an plea to holy living is reasonable. Doctrine informs us of the resources of grace we possess with which to obey. Because God has given to us, we are now encouraged to give back to Him.

3 The key to a satisfying and productive life is not in getting more from God, but in giving all we are and have to Him – Full Dedication. The Appeal to Dedication The Act of Dedication The Argument for Dedication The Alterations Necessary for Dedication- Attitude The Achievement of Dedication “We cannot have more of God or from God than we now possess…Most of us do not have the fullness of joy that this fullness of blessing should bring. The joy and satisfaction for which so many Christians are vainly striving can be had only by surrendering back to the Lord what He has already given us, including our inmost being…’You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” MacArthur p.138,139
