Population census is very expensive, therefore high quality data are expected.
The accuracy and completeness of census results are therefore essential 
Census taking is improving constantly throughout the world.
As censuses improve, there is increasing reliance on census data
Increased use of census data; puts census methodology under more scrutiny.

Demographic analysis
Comparison of census statistical information with figures from other sources
Matching census returns with those from interviews selected on the basis of a probability sample in a Post-Enumeration Survey (PES).

Planning of 2000 PES was good but its implementation was ineffective
Enumerators and Supervisors who took part in the main census were used, but in different EAs for the PES
There was lack of technical personnel with experience and skills in survey methodology in general and PES in particular

11. 2010 Census: PES Yes, PES would be carried out
PES will be carried out three months after the main census.
The main objective of the PES will be to check census coverage as well as content errors.
