6 “I Choose Genuineness” 1 Peter 1:3-7 Kyle Coffin
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. “I Choose Genuineness” 1 Peter 1: Kyle Coffin

If the day comes where I am threatened with death to deny Christ, I believe my response will be _________________________. “I Choose Genuineness” 1 Peter 1: Kyle Coffin

12 “I Choose Holiness” 1 Peter 1:16; 2:6,12 Craig Morgan

13 “I Choose Holiness” 1 Peter 1:16; 2:6,12 Craig Morgan
"You shall be holy, for I am holy." (1:16) Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. (2:11-12) “I Choose Holiness” 1 Peter 1:16; 2:6, Craig Morgan

16 “I Choose Submission” 1 Peter 2:15-17 Bill Hatch

17 “I Choose Submission” 1 Peter 2:15-17 Bill Hatch
For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king. “I Choose Submission” 1 Peter 2: Bill Hatch

18 “I Choose to Submit to Authority.”

20 “I Choose Eternity” 1 Peter 2:20-25 Warren Tyler

21 “I Choose Eternity” 1 Peter 2:20-25 Warren Tyler
For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. “I Choose Eternity” 1 Peter 2: Warren Tyler

24 “I Choose Humility” 1 Peter 3:13-17 Wayne Daley

25 “I Choose Humility” 1 Peter 3:13-17 Wayne Daley
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil. “I Choose Humility” 1 Peter 3: Wayne Daley

29 “I Choose to Expect Persecution” 1 Peter 4:12 Bruce Grissom
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you… “I Choose to Expect Persecution” Peter 4: Bruce Grissom

32 “I Choose to Expect Persecution” 1 Peter 4:12 Bruce Grissom
An important distinction in all of this fiery trial which “happening” as a is to try you punishment for sin “I Choose to Expect Persecution” Peter 4: Bruce Grissom

33 “I Choose to Expect Persecution” 1 Peter 4:12 Bruce Grissom
Expect the fiery trials (why they are not strange) Expect it because the world is in revolt Expect it because of the examples in scripture There is an object in such suffering Allows us to look to the end We are compensated by the presence of the Spirit of Glory (vs 13/14) “I Choose to Expect Persecution” Peter 4: Bruce Grissom

34 “I Choose to Expect Persecution” 1 Peter 4:12 Bruce Grissom
Our Response: recognize they are not strange recognize they are intended to try us REJOICE Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me. “I Choose to Expect Persecution” Peter 4: Bruce Grissom

36 “I Choose to Stand” 1 Peter 5:8-10 Stuart Welch

37 “I Choose to Stand” 1 Peter 5:8-10 Stuart Welch
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. “I Choose to Stand” 1 Peter 5: Stuart Welch

38 “I Choose to Stand” 1 Peter 5:8-10 Stuart Welch

39 “I Choose to Bless Those Who Persecute Me” 1 Peter Stuart Welch
But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Jesus) – Luke 6:27-28 “I Choose to Bless Those Who Persecute Me” Peter Stuart Welch

42 “I Choose Family” 1 Peter 4:8-11 Kyle Coffin

43 “I Choose Family” 1 Peter 4:8-11 Kyle Coffin
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. “I Choose Family” 1 Peter 4: Kyle Coffin
