3 Introduction In Mongolia, at the Nuclear Research Center of National University of Mongolia, we have been using compact electron accelerator (MT-22) for the neutron activation analysis research. We are developing methodic of activation analysis for mineral resources, construction materials, samples of environmental studies including air pollution, and import products such as foods, medicines are very essential in Mongolia. Therefore sharing experiences with FNCA member countries is very important for the development of NAA in Mongolia.

4 NAA applications Potential end-users for NAA in Mongolia are mining companies, environmental monitoring organizations. NAA has been used to determine gold, copper, silver, arsenic, uranium, rare-earth elements and heavy metals in geological and environmental samples.

5 Capacity Our NAA possibilities are limited by this neutron flux.
The main equipments is an electron cycle accelerator - Microtron MT-22 Parameter Data The energy of the accelerated electrons 22 MeV The average current 16 mА The density of the flux of gamma rays γ/сm2×sec Thermal neutron flux density n/сm2×sec Our NAA possibilities are limited by this neutron flux. We have a policy to obtain a research reactor.

6 Future plan Improve national and international cooperation
Learning from other countries experiences Develop new methods Increase the use of NAA: Environmental pollution control To study toxic heavy element in environmental and air pollution samples Food safety To control imported food products Health impacts of industry To determine basic and accompanying elements in export products of copper and coal minerals.
