Starter Assignment 9.13.2017 top half of page 11 in your sketchbook
Is it always bad to steal from an artist? What are some ways that you could adapt the art you chose to make the work your own? Draw your favorite piece from last time that you printed out.

Last time We went to the library to look up three artists that we liked their work. Than we printed our favorite pieces by each of those artists. Still need to do - We filled out a worksheet about the artists than wrote one paragraph for each art piece that we liked telling why we liked it. Still need to do- Lastly we sketched in our books at least 3 sketches of things that we liked about our art.

Reminders You are responsible to make up any work you missed while absent. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Parent teacher conferences are next week and so is mid- term? Check your grades to make sure that you are keeping up. Make sure you have paid your class fee and brought in your disclosure statement.

Composition - is the placement or arrangement of visual elements in a work of art, as distinct from the subject. Color scheme - is the choice of colors used in a piece of art.

Artists We are going to look at what some artists did to steal work from one another and what they did to make it their own. How did it challenge them as an artist, inspire them and elevate their own work?

Your Style Will Change, Just Like You Change
The more visual memory you get from seeing art the more that will influence your style Take from the great masters of art, the old dead people and be inspired by their work Also, take from the pioneers who are making art right now The most important part, make it YOU!

Break down each artist style You have three artist Take something form each one: color scheme, lines, composition, etc. Sketch out what you are taking from them on page 12 in your sketchbook Complete your paragraphs about each artist explaining why you picked that artist and what you are taking from each one. Done Early? – start making your final piece of art that shows you took something from each of your three artists, most important part, make it your own! There are shading pencils and color pencils on the back counter help yourself.

Next Class We will be working on this piece next time as well and it will be due Tuesday of next week. We will get our rubrics so you know what you are being graded on. Reminder: If you are sick and can’t make it to school all the power points from class are online at and you can me: if you ever need your homework
