4. SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar)
Spelling Test containing 20 words
A separate punctuation test is given on punctuation, vocabulary and grammar. This test requires short answers to questions and has some that are multiple choice.
Children’s writing books will also be used to assess punctuation, grammar and handwriting.

First and foremost, reassure your children that there is nothing to worry about and that they should always just try their best. Praise and encourage!
Ensure your child has the best possible attendance at school.
Support your child with any homework tasks. Homework is set for a reason.
Reading, spelling and times table games are always good to practise.
Talk to your children about their day and what they are learning.
Make sure your child has a good sleep and healthy breakfast every morning.
