3 Instructions Recharter Instructions
Select a unit leader to be the “point person” for the Recharter process Make sure this leader submits contact information via the CFC’s 2017 Recharter Contact Form ( Conduct a unit inventory Verify all adult leaders have current Youth Protection Training certification (at least through 3/31/2017) Follow the Online Recharter Instructions Complete the Recharter Checklist

4 Importance of Unit Inventory
Call all youth listed on the roster and ask them if they want to continue in Scouts. Especially call those that have not been at meetings consistently since August or September.

5 Youth Protection Training
Adults that have not completed Youth Protection Training will NOT be entered as a registered Leader!

6 Basic Adult Leader Training
my.scouting.org Sign in with your username and password Create an account if you don’t have one No BSA registration number needed! Click on Home, then My Dashboard Click on Training Center Click on training course you wish to take Take the course Print the certificate

7 Basic Adult Leader Training
Online Training is available at my.scouting.org Youth Protection Leader Specific (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts) This is Scouting Committee Challenge Classroom Training Available from Districts: Outdoor Leader Training Venturing Advisor Crew/Team Committee Challenge

8 Everyone Deserves a Trained Leader
Your new adult volunteers will not have a BSA ID # for their applications. Make sure they print out their YPT Trained Certificate and attach it to the Adult Application. YPT will be tied to their BSA ID# when the leader adds the number to their Personal Profile on my.scouting.org.

9 Boy’s Life Scouts receiving Boy’s Life every month stay in Scouting an average of five years. Scouts who get Boy’s Life advance faster.

10 Before You Begin… Recharter is NOT a paperless process
Get all forms signed!! Application required for all new youth & adults. Print membership cards from my.scouting.org EVERYONE PAYS THE SAME REGISTRATION AMOUNT - $24 Add Code # 112 for Advancement Chair and # 128 for Training Chair next to their names on the roster.

Click on “Legacy Web Tools” Click on “Internet Recharter” Click “FIRST TIME USER” Enter Access Code – located on label of recharter package picked up at Roundtable Click “Unit Type” and Enter Unit Number Click “Continue”

YOU MUST SELECT “LOAD COUNCIL INFORMATION” Follow instructions for updating your roster Check your roster Update your fees SUBMIT YOUR ROSTER!!! (BEFORE PRINTING) PRINT YOUR ROSTER & Add Code # 112 for Advancement Chair and # 128 for Training Chair next to their names on the roster

14 Recharter Checklist Must be completed and returned
Printed copy of the Online Recharter Roster Executive Officer MUST sign the front page Unit Leader MUST sign the front page Signed copy of the Annual Charter Agreement Executive Officer MUST sign Charter Organization Representative MUST sign Council Representative MUST sign

Applications for ALL Unregistered Youth and Adults Include any new youth/adults in the section of your completed Recharter Parent and Unit Leader MUST sign ALL Youth Applications For new Adult Applications – COR and Committee Chair MUST sign the applications New Adult Applications MUST include the Criminal Background Check consent page – or the app will not be processed. New Adult Applications MUST include copy of Youth Protection Training Certificate. Complete the Unit Account Application Attach your Charter Org’s Certificate of Tax Exemption

Complete the Friends of Scouting (FOS) Commitment Form Complete the 2016 Journey to Excellence Unit Form Check made payable to “Central Florida Council” $24 for ALL Youth and Adults $40 for Charter Fee $12 for each Boy’s Life subscription The completed Check List Update your BeAScout.org pin

17 CFC Accident & Sickness Insurance
Provided by council for all REGISTERED Units Possible because of strong FOS campaigns across our council. Coverage and Claim Forms found online at cflscouting.org

18 Journey to Excellence (JTE)
Complete the 2016 JTE Form Unit Leader MUST sign Committee Chair MUST sign Commissioner MUST sign Bronze – 525 points in 7 objectives Silver – 800 points in 8 objectives Gold – 1,050 points in 8 objectives Turn in the 2016 JTE Form with your recharter package If you had an active unit this year, there is no reason you cannot be a BRONZE Unit

19 GOALS FOR 2016 100% Accuracy Rate
100% On Line Recharter By November Roundtable No Lost Youth or Units All charters turned in ON- TIME!!!
