THE QUESTION Acts 16:30b …“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Acts 2:37b …“Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Acts 22:10a So I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’…

3 THE QUESTION: WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
The person who asks this question is lost – separated from God (Is. 59:1-2, Rom. 3:23, 6:23). What – terms, conditions to be met. Must – obligation, necessity. I – question is personal. Do – a verb, action To be saved – the desired end or aim. Saved = pardon or forgiveness of sins

4 The question is not: What must God do for one to be saved?
Jn. 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

5 The question is not: What did Christ have to do before I could be saved? Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

6 The question is not: What part does the Holy Spirit play in an individual’s salvation? Jn. 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. Romans 1:16, Acts 11:14 Mk. 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

7 The question is not: Are God’s grace, mercy, love and the blood of Christ important? Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 1:7 Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

The questions were asked by people in different circumstances.
