2 Nowadays it’s very necessary to know a foreign language
Nowadays it’s very necessary to know a foreign language. Knowledge of foreign language helps us to develop friendship and understanding among people.

3 English is spoken practically all over the world
English is spoken practically all over the world. It is spoken as the mother tongue in great Britain, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. A lot of people speak English in China, Japan, India, Africa, and other countries. It is one of 6 official languages of the United Nations. It is studied as a foreign language in many schools.

5 Learning a foreign language isn’t an easy thing.
Some people learn languages because they need them for their work…

8 Everyone, who knows foreign languages can speak to people from other countries, read foreign authors in the original, which makes your outlook wider.

9 If you like travelling you can go anywhere without being afraid that other people will not understand you.

12 There are some differences between British English and American English, but they are not so difficult to understand. People speaking American English can easy understand those who speak British English. There are differences in pronunciation, using, the words, spelling.

13 American English is a set of dialects of the English language used mostly in the United States. Approximately two-thirds of the world's native speakers of English live in the United States. English is the most common language in the United States. Though the U.S. federal government has no official language, English is the common language used by the federal government and is considered the de facto language of the United States because of it’s widespread use. English has been given official status by 28 of the 50 state governments.

15 British English – since the 14th century it has become state language
British English – since the 14th century it has become state language. It is the language of teaching in universities and colleges, it's the language of justice affairs, the language of politicians scientists, businessman and etc. When mass settlement of British people moved to America, English language changed again and again, but nevertheless it saved its original roots.

18 English language is a wonderful language
English language is a wonderful language. It’s the language of the great literature. It’s the language of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and others. Half of the world’s scientific literature is in English. It’s the language of computers technology. The great German poet Goette once said, “He, who knows no foreign language, doesn’t know his own one”.

19 Knowledge of foreign languages helps us to develop friendship and understanding among people.

20 That’s why in order to understand oneself and environment one has to learn foreign languages.
