2. What is Project Adventure?
Project Adventure is:
A nonprofit organization
Team building technique for students
Curriculum name is Adventure Learning
Students use real-world problems and find solutions

3. How does the Adventure program work?
Part 1:
Students receive a task
Ropes and team building
Groups are formed
Students work together to solve the problem

4. How does the Adventure program work?
Part 2:
Students and teacher(s) debrief
Students reflect on their feelings and the activity

5. Progression of Adventure Course
Progression 1: Games
Progression 2: Initiatives
Progression 3: Low Elements
Progression 4: High Elements

6. Games Blocks Popper Tag
Students are grouped with six blocks in each group.
Stack the blocks however they like.
The students hold the blocks using one finger each and try to knock the other groups blocks down.
Popper Tag
Students receive a half circle sponge.
Students use the popper to tag another student.
Whoever has the most tags wins.

7. Initiatives Lava Field Class can be divided in half.
Pretend the ground is lava.
Students use Polly Pads to get through.

8. Low Elements Trust Fall All Aboard Students follow commands.
Ready to fall, Ready to catch, Falling, Fall away.
All Aboard
You will need at least a 2x2 and 4” platform.
Students all need to be on the platform.
Students will balance on the platform for a designated period of time.
If a group member falls off, the group must start over.

9. High Elements Safety precautions must be taken at all times.
Understanding of ropes will be very important at this time.
Examples of High Elements:
1. Wall climb
2. Flying Squirrel
3. Zip-Line

11. Challenge by Choice
Students may accept the challenge if they feel comfortable enough to do so.
Students must participate by catching to receive full points for the day.

12. Experiential Learning
Useful when experience and debriefing are together.
Experience alone may not be enough to get the point across.
Experience and debriefing must go together.

13. Contract between students
Full Value Contract
Contract between students
A full value contract can be hung on the wall where students can see.
Similar to classroom rules.

Acceptance

14. The importance of Proper Materials
Need enough materials for all students.
Must have proper space and environment.
Materials can not be worn out.

15. Importance of Ropes
Students will be taught how to make the correct knots.
The knots will be use for belaying during rock climbing.
Can be dangerous if not done correctly.

16. Importance of team building
Students must have trust in each other.
They will be invading personal space.
They will need to be patient with their classmates.
Understand that this is scary for others.
Understand that we are here to help each other.
