2 The Book of Ephesians This epistle praises God for all of His wonderful blessings offered to Christians: God willed for the Ephesians to take advantage of everything He has to offer (Chapters 1-3). If the saints want God’s blessings, we must meet the responsibilities that accompany them: Let our walk be in Christ; a walk that glorifies God in every way (Chapters 4-6).

3 In View of God’s Blessings Being Conditional…
Put off the old man, and put on the new man: 4:17-24 Put away the practice of sin: 4:25-32 Walk in Love: 5:1-2 Walk as children of light: 5:3-14 Walk carefully, being filled with the Spirit: 5:15-21 Be subject to one another & wise in various relationships: 5:22-6:9 Put on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the forces of evil: 6:10-20 Tychicus will make known Paul’s affairs: 6:21-22 Blessings: 6:23-24

14 The Nature of the Lord’s Strength (Ephesians 6:14-20)
Verses 11 and 13) “Put on the whole armor of God; take up the whole armor of God” Verse 14a) “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth” Verse 14b) “Stand therefore… having put on the breastplate of righteousness” Verse 15) “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace”

Verse 16) “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one” Verse 17a) “And take the helmet of salvation” Verse 17b) “and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Verse 18) “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”

17 Spiritual Application
Be on the alert - pray always! Take on the full armor of God so that you will be armed and ready! Because you are wrestling against spiritual beings… In order to stand against the wiles of the devil… Know your enemy, and put on the whole armor of God! Stand firm! Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!

18 Spiritual Application
We ARE engaged in a spiritual WAR: But we need not fret. Rather, let us take the admonitions seriously and put our trust in Jehovah God. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesian 6:10)
